Deep Silver has announced it's acquired all rights to the Homefront franchise from Crytek, and will now be in charge of development of the upcoming Homefront Game.

Then they made Dead Island: Riptide, which is a sequel and not an expansion they just sell as a sequel. Honest. Then they made the Dead Island: Epidemic, which is not a first person shooter/roleplaying game but a MOBA game. That last one is so stupid that I still can't believe it exist. And they are making Dead Island 2.

I believe Yager is working on Dead Island 2. Spec Ops: The Line was good, so who knows, they might do okay with it.

It's not really switching developers. It sounds like the new studio developing the game, Dambuster Studios, is made from former Crytek UK folks that were working on it prior to this whole mess.

They're most likely selling things off along with getting outside funding. To be honest Crytek never should have bought Homefront or Free Radical in the first place.

Deep Silver didn't make any of those games. Dead Island: DI: Rioptide, and Epidemic were all made by Techland and published by Deep Silver. Dead Island 2 is being made by Yager, the folks that did Spec Ops: The Line.

Well what else are the going to do? not another Crysis game? perhaps just lease the cry-engine and provide tools and support to other games developers?

Hmm, interessting, would like to know if they will keep devving on CryEngine because that trailer looked pretty sick. I'm actually okay with Deep Silver taking over. They made the Saints Row franchise as well and I liked that alot so I'm optimistic

This. People tend to blame everything on the publishers but not the developers. Also, Spec Ops: The Line was an awesome game. Too bad it didn't sell well enough to make a sequel.
