The cheapest thing you can find, that would be the best.

Lol, I rather invest in a solid pair of headphones rather than a $20 that won't do any game justice. But to ones own,

Astro A50's

I have a friend who is selling his for $180 which is a solid price considering brand new is $299. Still thinking over this and the H wireless or if buying $120 more for H wireless is even worth it..

Problem is, solid headphones are not wireless, and a headset, and "console compatible"

USB soundcards are pretty much all you need for PS4. And headphone/microphone adapters exist for Xbox One, 360, and PS4. The PS3, is the only problem, but he did qualify by saying next gen. And audio tech has progressed enough for more quality options to pop up, though few they might be now.

As for the OP, get the H Wireless if you can find it for below the MSRP. That, or look into console headphone adapters or the mixamp and try paiing with some headphones/modmic, or some quality headsets.

Audio tech hasn't progressed at all. The products simply don't exist because people wont pay for them.

lol, audio "tech" isn't progressing at this point; dynamic drivers have been around for over 100 years.
