Xiaomi Redmi Note Is Sending Your Photos And Text Messages To The Chinese Government

qwertywarrior

BAM !

A Xiaomi Redmi Note from Hong Kong made a bold claim (with proof) that his device is connecting to a Chinese IP address and frequently sending personal data such as photos and text messages over to the Chinese server, without any user consent whatsoever. This is a serious allegation, and it looks like it is 100% legit.

The data transfer takes place when the Xiaomi Redmi Note is connected to a Wi-Fi network. The user tried rooting his phone and flashing a different firmware, but the data transfer still took place regardless. A little digging up revealed that the IP address belongs to CNNIC.

CNNIC is the administrative agency responsible for Internet affairs under the Ministry of Information Industry of the People's Republic of China. It is based in the Zhongguancun high tech district of Beijing.

Oh shit better lay off the phone calls to al qaeda.

I like to occasionally say "BOMB OBAMA" down the phone, so far I have not been shot

I was once inside the base visiting a friend, I had camo trousers on (I realise how retarded I must have looked) and the guard jokingly raised his (loaded but not cocked i hope) mp5 in my direction, commented that I was "invading" and proceeded to laugh as I pretty much shit my pants

lmao I have a story too, in Israel I had a water pistol taken away from me by an armed guard at a train station as a kid, I also pretty much soiled.

He didn't give it back when he saw it was a water pistol either, I also got happy slapped by some random guy for washing sand off my feet on the beach at the tap.

Well it's possible to make a firearm that small and you aren't supposed to have lighter fluid period in airports, so that's probably why.

Worlds smallest operational firearm.

If true this is bad however, Xaomi phones are most certainly NOT Shit. They're quite good in fact better than a lot of flagships

Also to all people who think they're safe, care to guess how many mobos come from China? The correct answer it's all of them.

i doubt Huawei would do it

it would destroy their reputation as a competitor to Cisco

they even gave their source code just to prove there arnt any backdoors

Considering the majority of my texts tend to either be couple stuff or wanting something from the store..I highly doubt that info is worth being so uptight over.
