Case/Cover for Nvidia Shield Tablet

I've decided to bite the bullet and trade my 16GB iPad 2 for a Shield tablet. I've pre-ordered the tablet in the UK and decided against the official Nvidia cover as it looked kinda bad and I would like something to cover the back of the device. I was wondering how long does it usually take for 3rd party companies to start making accessories for devices? as the tablet is now released in the US. Should I wait for 3rd party cases/covers or just get a generic 8 inch tablet sleeve?

well im also wondering about that but considering how many tablets are out there that are more commonly used id think it may take some time if there are gonna be any at all. i think ill just get the original cover as i dont like how most backcovers make the thing so much thicker

Might take a while, I would not count on many coming out, there is very little available for the tegra note and sheild handheld other than crappy chinese ones

What is wrong with the offical one? it looks quite good to me

That's right about the tegra note. I have one and all i can find are the "universal" cases (which don't even fit it properly) and the expensive cover which only covers the screen and doesn't actually "hold" the device.

I ended up going for the crappy chinese one, complained to the seller and got 50% off it.

I don't like the way the cover folds when using it as a stand, maybe because I'm used to the smart cover for my iPad.

The smart cover has similar sized segments so when you fold it to make a stant it makes a solid triangular prism with the cover. They probably haven't used that design on this as it's a smaller tablet and so would be as stable.
