any ever bought a GPU off amazon and shipped it to Australia?

melias24

Hi, I was wondering how much Amazon would charge to send a GTX 770 (link:http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00DZ35XWY/ref=redir_mdp_mobile/182-8080160-6052637?keywords=gtx%20770&qid=1406629606&ref_=sr_1_9&sr=8-9) to Queensland Australia

Thanks,

~Elias

buy it off of Japan's Amazon. It might be cheaper shipping. There should be an option that lets you calculate your shipping on their site? It will vary depending on the seller whether they will ship to Australia or not. You will have to pay import charges as well. It isn't going to be cheap. You may be better off buying one there, even with Australia's crazy prices.

I should be studying.

If you put it in your cart it will calculate the shipping and tax in your cart.(Said 0$ tax for me but that's probably not right.)

thats the right tax.  the us has no official national internet taxes.  Only the states decide if it wants residents to pay sales tax.

I live in Finland and I have that in Amazon too, so it should've said the tax would be 24% of the price of the product but it just said 0.

I have bought a few expensive items from amazon. I have payed NO TAX. you only pay that if it goes over $1000. If my total on amazon is $600AUD, that's all I pay.

About the shipping charges. its simple. you add to your cart. go to checkout all the way as if you're buying it. and on the final page when you would click to buy it shows the total. If enabled it will show you the amount in your local currency.
I use it all the time as I buy many PC parts from Amazon.

Well idk, I paid the tax difference when I bought a thing from Amazon.de.

Edit: just remembered that I bought some Velcro from Amazon.com and I didn't pay any tax on that.

After currency conversion and shipping etc you might find this to be cheaper or the same price:

I have got stuff from Amazon, but not expensive PC parts. If it craps out or is DOA you need to send it back which costs heaps. I am in NZ though so maybe a little dif. Here NZpost has a place in the US where you can send the package to and then pay for NZpost to send the package here, which for me is cheaper and maybe safer than using amazon shipping.

DOA is free I know for a fact. My MIC was DOA, amazon said they would ship one out the next day, gave me a label and return authorization (label on box for shipping and return auth in box) and that was it.

they gave me 30 days to ship the dead one back otherwise i would be charged again. Easy as 1,2,3.

Erm, how? I just pointed out a non-reference 770 that was cheaper than the one you listed, and it's in Australia which means no large shipping charges and faster delivery.

Yea but i want a reference cooled (titan cooler) GTX 770, and shipping shouldn't be too much from Amazon someone said it will only cost about $15.

Well, idk then, I'm sure just by entering your address and not fully completing the order the tax and shipping will appear.

I have bought several computer parts off Amazon US including a GPU which I sent to NZ.  The shipping was free for some of them while that was still a thing, but now it costs around $20 for the cheapest shipping.  Amazon has generally been really good about returns from NZ, paying over $100 of shipping to return a $300 laptop (stupid NZ postal regulations).  Wouldn't think Australia would be too different.

You can calculate shipping by going through the checkout until the last page where you confirm and pay for the order.
