Buy a windows key

Make a Windows USB installer drive

Go into the bios, (start up -> click the bios key)

Find the boot options menu

Click install with (USB Drive)

Install the Windows OS on a fresh HDD(Erase the current partition)

And there you have it, a fresh copy of Windows, hopefully.

I just have to say that Windows Vista should be called Windows Blister for obvious reasons. :D

maybe hitup the mfg for a restore cd, then create a bootable usb and copy the cd contents to it?

I don't believe that you can do that. I think that you actually have to create an ISO from the CD first and then use some software that can copy that ISO to the USB Flash Drive and make it bootable during the process. ;)

otherwise i will have to get a DL DVD to copy it (its on an 8 gig flash drive).  Either way, if you want the second option I could just mail you the disc since dvd's are so cheap and all that.  Or the third option is you could buy a usb flash drive, mail it here, then i would mail it back.  Imaging the thumb drive shouldn't be an issue.

United States

booting it is easy, its getting the media that is a challenge (If you want contact HP, but I spent 45 mins. on the phone b*tching at 'em cause there bloatware installed spyware).

Media is windows 7 starter SNPC

HP Branded

The USB drive has a COA, but this should be unnecessary because embedded in your BIOS chip is the original Windows product key.  HP uses the key from your motherboard.  Also your netbook probably has a COA (sticker with holographic strip).
