3-Way CrossFire

GloriousPain

What 290x in particular would you suggest for 3 way crossfire? A Customer is building a killer system as he won a contest at a local PC part store however they do not sell Nvidia parts so he's down to 290x's and he's debating getting 3 references w/ WaterBlocks and Watercooling or 3 aircooled which/what would you recommend? He's Weary on watercooling so if you HAD too go with aircooled what would you get?  And no he's said he's not gonna OC them just because it's already gonna be overkill

I think for 3x 290x's watercooling is almost a must... I would convince him. Totally worth it.

you can ask GamerDude hes running dual 290X

3 way XFire will be plenty for single LG Ultrawide panel

Will be overkill for three 1080P monitors

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

He's debating 1x2160p or 3x1600p He did kind of win a contest as said the main thing killing him is the stores limited selection. No Nvidia No Watercooling supplies No Returns* (Contest rules all prizes are final he merely has to pick them )

3x1600P will be a problem for the 3 way GPU configs that is beyond 4K res

I will say pick the single 2160P monitor

What he won is essentially a giant gift certificate that's non transferable and he has to sign a contract when he spends it saying he won't sell  the parts and things of that nature... and the $3k isn't quite enough to get 2 295x2s and all the other things so he decided 3 290xs b/c his case doesn't fit 4Way  and it was a gift from his now dead dad...
