Upgraded my I5 in my z77 platform to a 3770k today, I've been messing with overclocking for about an hour on it how are these results

Posted Image

4.7ghz at 1.193v 74°

I can't get 4.8 stable for crap though unless I pump a shitload of voltage to it...

Thats good. My 3770k @ 4.43GHz only uses 1.135v

This is auto OC too :) I would do it manually but I want it to be a bit more stable and safe since I have it running servers 24/7/365

4.7 at 1.2V is actually really good. Even people struggle to get <4.7 @1.3V.

I'm almost scared to run it at 1.3 with it running 74° at 1.2 on my h100i lol

The "dangerous" spot for Ivy Bridge CPU's is probably around 1.4-1.35V. Temps at 1.3V with an H100i would probably be like 80C or something, but nothing to worry about. You don't have to push it further if you don't want to.

Yea I'm pretty happy with how it is, I guess 74 kinda freaked me out because the 3350 i5 I upgraded from never got above 41

I had an h100i before I went custom liquid, I ran push/pull with some 1850rpm GT's. it loaded at 72C in my HAF-X

dangerous spot for ivy is 90+ anyways, max temp is 105

@cnapier39428

I say crank that voltage up and see if you can get to 5ghz!

The main reason I bought my 3770k was because I thought that 3350 running at 3.3 was bottlenecking my 780ti at 1304mhz but turns out it only added maybe 1-3 fps in games and like 40 points to my score in valley

It ran through my mind to crank it to 1.35 and try to hit 5ghz.. I may do that tomorrow

1304Mhz on a 780ti? What kind of magical powers are you using to get that?

They were Scythe Gentle Typhoons, didn't make much noise at all.

No magic needed, they're awesome cards. http://www.3dmark.com/fs/1922169 ;)

lol no, I live in the states, east coast.

Benchmark was done using everything in my sig. They're just beastly cards and amazing overclockers.

3770k at 4.5 using 1.185 in bios, getting around 1.2 after everything. temp tops at 75c. the only problem is im kinda lazy to research the fine details to oc higher. same thing with the vga, but i will go for 1400 eventually and see what happens :D

is there a step by step guide around for 5ghz on this chip?

CPU: Intel i7 3770k + Corsair H105 Motherboard: ASUS Sabertooth Z77 Memory: Corsair XMS3 8Gb 1600Mhz VGA: ASUS GeForce GTX 780 Ti Matrix PSU: Corsair AX860i
Storage: Samsung 850 Pro, OCZ Vertex 4 128Gb, WD Green 2Tb Case: Corsair 760T Monitor: Acer Predator XB1 + LG IPS234

I hope so because I was almost thinking about buying Sandy bridge because they're almost guaranteed to hit 5ghz
