That compares FPS from games, none of this Firestrike stuff. 

 

GPUBenchmark.com kinda sucks for this.

 

Trying to figure out if a 290 will triple my FPS vs my 7850

You may be able to get close to triple.   My 290x overclocked got 2x the score of my cousin's 7950 in unigine valley.
