For my pertinent links to guides, reviews, and anything similar, go here, and look under the spoiler labeled such. A brief history of Unix and it's relation to OS X by Builder.

I personally just stick with iTunes. There are some annoying things about it, sure, but for the most part it just works for me. Some people need more advanced features, but for just playing music and keeping it organised in one place, iTunes is pretty good.

No reason to switch from iTunes if you like it, don't late peoples hate get on your nerves. Personally I like Winamp over everything else so that's what I use.

I prefer foobar2000. It's simple, works, and is extremely customizable if you want to get into all the fine details.

I, like most other people hate it cause it goes up to 256, 000 mb of ram just to play music, doesnt play alot of music formats, sucks with large libraries, and installs a bunch of unneeded apple stuff. It is bloat and music players like musicbee are super easy to setup. Just cause a music player has options to customize it doesnt mean you have to.

Musicbee is awesome for people that want it to just work.

Its not that. But considering how many people hate on it, I think its worthwhile to see what the competition has to offer.

I downloaded foobar and am using it right now, and the interface just seems very clunky--im sure there are some good skins.....I just haven't found any.

@Damikiller37 's suggestion seems the best.  Try musicbee :P

The main reason people hate on iTunes is that it's made by Apple, I bet you most of the haters haven't ever actually used it.

I am stuck to iTunes, because I use the Account from my Dad. He has Itunes Match and all that stuff.

iTunes is the worst player I have ever used. Just using a file structure is a better implementation. Foobar2000 is the best there is and for linux I would use foobnix.

Spotify isn't really a media player but a place to get music as well as listen to it.

I used to use it, but I prefer to stick with iTunes.
