Unlocked phone for Mexico and usa.

YamiFrankc

Hello, im in need of a unlocked phone that I can use both in Mexico and usa.

Currently i have an LG Motion with MetroPCS, it works just right for me. Only thing i do not like about it is battery life. It last almost a day when i do not use it for other thing than occasional messaging.

I do not need an ultra fancy and expensive phone. I googled and found some that can have dual SIM cards, that might work. But most of the time I will not switch between the countries constantly.

In USA I would be using MetroPCS network... and in Mexico I would use either Movistar or Telcel(mostly movistar).

I have seen some Huwaei phones under $100, are these good?

I know nothing about phones and if there are compability issues with carriers and what not...

So...what phones should i look into?

Moto E/G. MetroPCS requires 1700 and 2100 MHz 3G frequency bands

Movistar requires 850 MHz and 1900 MHz though it supports them too :)

Pretty much any UTMS (GSM 3G capable) phone in NA nowadays will support 850/1900. It's finding the phones that support AWS 3G (1700/2100) that's a pain in the ass. I use Wind up here in Canada which also requires your phone support AWS on 3G, but unlike MetroPCS or un-refarmed T-Mobile, they don't even have a 2G network to fall back onto, so you're realllimited as to what phone you can use :(

Thanks for your replies!

Moto G and E looks nice. Most likely will end with some of these.

I did not research a lot, but seems like dual sim Nokia phones are either Windows phones or some other OS...

When ordering the moto G from Motorola page it has the option of "Moto G 4G LTE -- US GSM", that is the one I would need, right?
