I personally own the roxio gamecap hd pro but the best external capture card that u could get (i am saying this because of the easy to use software) is the elgato although i havent tried the avermedia befor ebut the elgato would be your best choice in my books

Avermedia seems to be decent. I know that's Linus' preferred brand, and from what I understand they aren't too expensive either

I`m using Roxio HD Capture Pro on my PS3. it has a great capture quality and comes with a great editing software and easy to setup card
