What can I use a spare router for?

I've got a spare router that I haven't used, what would be a good use for it? Would extending the wireless extent of my network be a good idea? (is this possible?)

Thanks,

Blueprint

Yes its possible, and for some its generally not a bad idea. At one point I had three wireless routers in my home.

Look around google to see if you can install something like OpenWRT on it and just experiment. Watch some tutorials, etc. Routers are great little tinker toys.

Set up a network labeled "Free Wi-Fi", but don't connect the router to the Internet.

Any unknown button should be pressed even number of times.

I have 3 routers around my house acting as wireless access points. Basically they are all the same name "cljtmp" and password. But on different bands. This allows your devices to flip seamlessly around the house, and stay on the same nat
