mic not working in obs

I started to live stream a little while back and i talked alot to keep my viewers accompanied and then i started streaming with out my mic so i unplugged it and when i plugged my mic back in it won't pick up any sound and i i have everything check but still sound won't pick up in the mic. Any way to fix it?

Stupid question, but did you by any chance forgot that you may have put it on mute? (the microphone itself)
