Nh-u14s with amd 8350

PhilBoisvert

Anyone here have a nh-u14s with a 8350? That's the setup I have and i wouild like to compare the temperature to mine because they seems pretty high on my side. If my sensor is off by a few degree, that's also something i would want to know be cause I want to overclock.

Thank you

I did some research and found out that amds temp are accurate only under load. My chipset goes to 70 (ill put a fan on the back of the MB to see if it helps) for the cpu ill do some more testing tonight to see if the temps are ok

MB is a asus m5a97 and the chipset is known to get hot. What are your temp under load?

Chipset usually doesn't matter that much and readings can be really weird. Mines around 60C while under load. For CPU which is on light OC of 4.0GHz, 1.15V I got 76C on one fan and 68C with two. Ambient is 30C.

so your mainboard is getting 70c ?

Asus M5A97 R2.0 is only a 4+2 powerphase board, and digi vrm, so yeah if you try to overclock the hell out of your cpu, that board can get abit toasty.

Chipset does not realy matter, what matters is the power delivery parts on the board.

The socket went to 85c while the cpu wa at 60c. I put a fan on back of the mb and now its better. My MB is the is the rev1,not the r2. But yeah I think ill wait and buyba new one. I have instability at 4.5. Maybe I just didnt win the lottery or my board vrm is shit.

If I set my vcore to 1.35 and prime report 1.42 under prime. Witch oun do I take into account when setting my limit?

it depends a bit on the furter settings that you did, wenn overclocking, like LLC settings and such.

But arround 1.4V seems normal to me for FX8350 on 4.5.

1.35V seems a bit too low for that clockspeed.

I made a mistake in that post, what i meant was the socket. In HWmonitor, it correspond to CPU under the motherboard categorie. the actual cpu is labeled ''package'' in the cpu categorie. Putting a fin the back of the motherboard made my socket temperature go from 85 to 76. the cpu is at about 60 at 4.5ghz 1.4v.
