need help!

ok so I bought a dell precision 490 that has a intel xeon processor dual core @3.0 ghz and has a 750 watt stock psu with 3gb ddr2 ram and I was wondering if this was a decent intro pc until I save up enough money to build one now since im only going to be playing games like league of legends I figured it would be fine? I was going to buy a gtx 750 to put in it as well since it will be going in my new pc when I save up enough money. and should I upgrade my ram to 16 so I can use it as a rendering pc? here are the cpu specs http://ark.intel.com/products/27219

What version of windows is it running? (32 bit? 64 bit?) if its got 64 bit then go ahead and turn it into a rendering pc, though I would probably go with 8-12GB instead of 16 as its cheaper and most likely will be more than enough.

if its got 32 bit then I'd suggest just scrapping it or using it as a backup or something as you will nto be able to use more than about 4GB of ram on it.

Specs: CPU - Intel i7 8700K @ 5GHz | GPU - Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming | Motherboard - ASUS Strix Z370-G WIFI AC | RAM - XPG Gammix DDR4-3000MHz 32GB (2x16GB) | Main Drive - Samsung 850 Evo 500GB M.2 | Other Drives - 7TB/3 Drives | CPU Cooler - Corsair H100i Pro | Case - Fractal Design Define C Mini TG | Power Supply - EVGA G3 850W

CPU is missing most of the newer features, but shouldn't be a bottleneck for your new GPU. PSU will do you fine. RAM is low but if you watch what you're doing (don't open too many chrome tabs like Linus) you should be okay; may be a smart idea to close everything else when you game to avoid hitting that cap. GPU looks good for your usage and (probably) won't be held back by any other parts in the old pc. The "buy GPU get everything else later" approach is fairly tried and true and your plan looks good. I feel like if you put more RAM into this PC it won't yield that large of a benefit and with a store-bought pc you can't be too sure about mobo compatibility anyways. More ram in the new build gets a thumbs up though.
