A few questions...

emachado99

Hey guys,

I have a few questions so bare with me here :)

1. My second Seagate drive is on it's way out. After having one fail on me, I sent it back and they gave me a refurbished drive and now only a few months later it's failing on me. My Uncle had the same problem about a year ago. He had 3 Seagate drives fail on him within 6-8 months... So I decided it's time for Western Digital.

My question is, is it just my bad luck with drives that they are failing or is it maybe my PSU that's causing them to fail? I mean none of my other parts have had any issues... What else could it be?

2. What's really the big difference between a Western Digital Blue drive and a Black drive? I heard the Black is better for video editing and photo stuff and also gamers... But is it really worth the extra money to get a Black drive compared to the Blue?

Any answers would be great :) Thanks

The big main difference between the Blues and the Blacks are the seak times, and cache size I believe. If you can afford the blacks it's great, but if not don't worry too much.

Normandy - Intel Core i5 3470, 8 GB Corsair Vengenace LP, EVGA GTX 960 SSC, Gigabyte GA-Z77M-D3H-MVP, WD Blue 1 TB, Seagate 320 GB (steam), Seagate 320 GB (experimental, second OS, etc), Windows 8.1 + Ubuntu 14.10

The Blue won't fail on me faster than the Black? And do they have the same warranty?

Not sure about that first part, but the black line has a 5 year warranty vs. 3 on the blue line.
