How do I use my audioengine D1 with longer cable?

JoshuaTjandra

So the cable that came with the D1 is extremely short, I need a longer cable to be able to put the unit on my desk.

I've tried using an active repeater, but now the pc won't recognize the D1. D1 currently only works when plugged into the back of my pc.

DOES NOT work with (USB device not recognized, power LED on D1 ON)

Front panel USB

USB active repeater (5m)

Can someone more knowledgeable help me solve this problem?

Might just have to get a new usb cable or dig up an optical cable and run over that

Sounds like the problem I had, it was very selective what ports that the DAC would work properly on.

It would work on 1 set of USB 3 ports, but not on the ones above it.

Try a power USB 3 Powered hub, I've read that can work, or try all rear USB ports.

5m may be too long, I'm using a 1m and it seems ok, just not in some of my USB ports unless there is a usb hub in between.
