Steam randomly disconnects ?

I am using steam talking to my gf and all of a sudden steam disconnects and tells me that is can't establish connect to the servers, So I did a ping test through cmd to Linustechtips and steam. I got a response form the store server and the community server. If I am pinging the wrong servers please provide what I should be pinging. But every thing else is fine and has a secure connection I don't know why steam hasn't? :/

This is my old pc which I am reamending to be a media server or a nas. Motherboard: Generic fujitsu CPU: Intel pentium G640 @2.8 GHz RAM: 4GB generic fujitsu memory PSU:  CPUCooler: Stock intel cpu cooler Storage:  Fujitsu MHZ2120BH @120GB, Soon to have a HDD for more storage.

So that must explain why i couldn't connect to steam
