Building first pc,need some help.

All the components have arrived and now before I assemble it I have some questions.

I have a valid copy of windows 7 on my current computer and a code,I do not however have any disk as when I bought this pc it was newly installed and I was simply given a code to activate it,how will I get it on my new rig?

I was told by many videos to use the top of my mobo case to put my motherboard while working as it is anti static,it is however full of dust, and other residue and kind of bent,is it still ok or is there any alternatives(it does not come with a bag).

Should I use the thermal paste that came with my intel i7 4770k or that came with the hyper evo 212?

That is all,if you have any other tips for my first build I would be very grateful.

Thank you for reading.

As for using your motherboard box, using any box will be fine. Just don't put it on something like carpet. Also, the bag it comes in is only antistatic on the inside.

Here's a donwload link. http://www.w7forums.com/threads/official-windows-7-sp1-iso-image-downloads.12325/page-2#post-124821. Just select your edition and arc (x64 for new CPUs).

Should be ok, as long as there isn't anything conductive on it.

Doesn't really matter, but I'd go with the one that came with your cooler.

Nooo. I think if you check those vids the top of the motherboard box is where a mobo can be tested. Many cases have conductive steel or static attracting polymer tops.

If I recall correctly the Intel "heatsink" (stock cooler) has thermal compound pre-applied to the interface plate. Use the thermal compound that came with the cooler being installed.

The only tip I have is to be patient and think things through in detail before starting.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
