Why not go for an IPS panel? They're generally better for graphic design (colour depth) and gaming for that matter.

Dell U2414H http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824260174

The 1ms GTG doesn't mean anything, it's not a measurement of input lag, it's just the time it takes for a pixel to go from gray to a color, to gray. Once the response time is under 10-12 the difference is barely noticed.

What you want to avoid is big input lag, not GTG ms, and it can only be measured with proper equipment, the input lag is not written on the specs.

The Dell monitor I suggested is very low in terms of input lag and has great color, which for a designer is very important.
