Hello,

I was messing around my motherboard configurations and XTU Intel and I noticed that I can't use a multiplier grater than x34 for my I5 3570k.

 

Is this normal? I am new to overclocking so I have no Idea about it but I think this was supposed to be an unlocked CPU.

 

I have read a lot over the years about overclocking but now I decided to try it.

The k on the end is meant to mean that the CPU is unlocked. Do you have a z series motherboard??

You have an H77 board, it's the board that's locked, if you want to overclock you must purchase a board with the Z77 chipset.

Yes you need a 'z' series mono to be able to overclock.
