What is better when you OC your CPU, High End Air Cooler or an AIO Liquid Cooler?

Depends on which AIO. If you get something like an H60, a high end tower cooler like a Noctua NH-D15 would be better.

In general the AIO will tend to do better as you put more load, but there are some really really good air coolers that will perform with about any of the AIO aka the noctua D15. It really depends on the space you have in the case and how much you want to spend

Depends on which air coolers and AIO's you're comparing and what OC you're doing. The NH-D15 (best air cooler, if you can fit it) can keep up with almost any AIO that's as big or smaller than the 240m H100i. Most 280mm> AIO's beat the the NH-D15. For smaller you can get the 4790K to a 4.4/4.5 OC with a U14S.
