Asus GTX 780Ti DirectCU II OC or Asus GTX 780 DirectCU II OC

Go to solution Solved by Unbr34k4bl3,

I think I've decided with the help of you guys. It'll be the TI Version. :)

Thanks to everyone who replied. :D

So.. I'm not completly sure which card to pick tbh. I know the prices of each for me in switzerland (I put the pries in CHF and USD in the poll, at theend of the choice). Yet I don't know, which card to buy for my new RIG which I want to build in november.

What I want to use it for: Basicly Heavy and beautiful gaming. That I can smash all the settings up as high as possible and just enjoy the gaming expirience. But also for productive work. For example, After Effects, Photoshop, 3D Modelling (e.g. Blender) and such. Also in about half a year I want to get a quadruple Monitor setup. (I know for stuff like that AMD would be better, but Nvidia has software to offer I kinda want and  a small amount of Nvidia fanery is involved too.)

I watched a full review on both of these. And they look pretty much the same, so it comes down to the performance/price ratio.

What do you guys recommend me?

I'll happily answer questions, if there are any.

If money isn't an issue, the TI is the way to go.

I just wanna make sure. That I don't overpay for something, that might be too much. :P

And I sorta thought that too tbh.<_<

$200 for something than you can just overclock to match the TI speeds is a waste of money IMO.

Most 780s won't overclock high enough on air to match a stock 780 Ti, and you still could overclock the Ti (even further as the chip is higher binned)

The Ti is the way if you want THE best possible outcome

If you are happy to play at 1080p then a 780 is enough, a 780ti is great for pushing 60+ fps at even high resolutions or 120hz 1080p very easily

If money is not an issue Ti 100%, I am super happy with mine

That makes no sense, you overclock a 780 to ti speeds, so I just overclock my ti to get a performance boost again ><

True but isint the difference between the TI and normal 780 really really small? (1-5fps at max?) is that really worth $200?

The difference is about 20-30%.

Of course the 780 Ti is more than 30% more expensive than a 780 but the higher you go, the more expensive it gets.

So you technically get 30% more hp for 30% more money? Does it scale that good?

You know like I said above I have money, but it's just.. Is it worth getting a 780ti (spending 220 bucks more) and next year a second one for a 4 monitor setup I'm going for?

Because you know, I could no problem. I'm just absolutley not sure which one to pick. :P

780Ti of course. With Skynet BIOS, GK110b will fly and shit on the 780.

Its worth it IMO, hard to say about next year, the price will drop as new cards come out, so would easily allow you to stretch the life of the card, though the cards next year might be better

hard to say

4 monitors? what are you planning?

No it usually is in the ballpark of 140-150% of the price of a 780

3 Monitors for gaming and one for like ts and chrome and so on.

Or: 2 x 2 for Productivity. (For after effects and stuff like that, which will make it easier to work on with 2 monitors, where the picture of the input is on one mon. and the output is on the other one.)

Harsh. Hmm.. So is it any worthy with the prices I have in switzerland ? Or should I take the money I have left (~ 200 bucks) and do something else with it?

What resolution would the 3 monitors be? 3x 1080p would be the max really

(not a fan of surround myself though)

1080p is enough. I don't plan on getting 1440p or 4k. So.. yeah.
