Help me with my computer

vladtp

Hey i want to build a new computer that i will be using in gaming but also in coding. The problem is the budget witch is around 950 usd (american dollars). I was thinking about going for an i5-4460 and and r9 280 with 8 GB ram. Can i play on this system any next gen game like bf4, ac4 and will this system work good for the next 4 years?

It looks solid... If you're going to code on that I would suggest more ram but it depends on what you will be coding (since memory leaks)... Or try getting something with more cores... Also I would suggest a second (or third) display since you can see the code, output, and references at the same time...

i am not doing that advanced coding that would require more ram, i am more into gaming right now, coding is just a hobby. So i am more interested if this build will run the latest games for the next 4 years

It will last for around 3-4 years but it might struggle at the 4th year... Just don't do anything too crazy and it should last for way more than that...

EDIT:
I usually plan my builds with a 7-year lifecycle.... and my last one lasted 12 years...

@vladtp

4 Years might be cutting it close, you'll probably have to upgrade partially in around 3 to 3 and 1/2 years.

Specs: 4790k | Asus Z-97 Pro Wifi | MX100 512GB SSD | NZXT H440 Plastidipped Black | Dark Rock 3 CPU Cooler | MSI 290x Lightning | EVGA 850 G2 | 3x Noctua Industrial NF-F12's

Bought a powermac G5, expect a mod log sometime in 2015

Corsair is overrated, and Anime is ruined by the people who watch it
