Is this build balanced?

vuise

Hey guys,

planning a relatively cheap build but i'm not sure whether to go for either builds. Enlighten me? :'D (prices are in SGD)

Build 1:

CPU/MB:  Asrock H97M0PRO w/ G3258
Cooler: Coolermaster TPC812
RAM: kingston 4GB CL11 x2  / corsair vengeance 2x4GB
Storage: WB 1TB  / CRUCIAL 128GB
GPU: EVGA 750Ti 2GB
PSU: seasonic 520W
Case: coolerMaster N600 (window)

total: 1138

Build 2:

CPU/MB:  Asus H81i -PLUS ITX w/ i5 4570

Cooler: Stock

RAM: kingston 4GB CL11 x2  / corsair vengeance 2x4GB

Storage: WB 1TB / CRUCIAL 128GB

GPU: EVGA 750Ti 2GB

PSU: Silverstone SFX 450W Gold

Case: Silverstone Raven RVZ01

total: 1203

So things i am finding for!

well firstly i am interested in overclocking therefore the consideration for the G3258 and I love ITX form factor but sometimes i'm not sure about upgradability.... the builds are kinda similar imo that's why i'm kinda unsure what i want to get.

I mostly game and i just want a stable and relatively decent yet reliable system that doesnt heat up as fast as a laptop......

what do i game on (mainly):

BF4, CS:GO, wildstar

Build 1.

Nevermind it doesn't have a Z97 board.

Just get an i3 as mentioned below.

Personally I would go for the i5, over the pentium as its more balanced, if the pc is only for gaming then the pentium would be an ok choice

However, you could an i3 on a h81 and a better GPU

BTW did you know you can OC the 3258 on some b81 and b85 boards? might help in your budget!!!

yeah i do! but i'm not happy with the amount of USB 3.0 ports on them :(

and i'm not sure about the i3 though... though might consider the g3258 on a h81

1. cant overclock

2. the g3258 seems to up to par to the i5 in the games that i frequently play (according to reviews)

I would sooner sacrifice USB 3 than GPU/CPU performance

I would recommend a 270X at that price point, it delivers amazing price to performance.

Maybe go with the 4570, there's more longevity with that (as it isn't dual core).

well, few things: the 270X costs almost a hundred in where i live, which amounts to a month's worth of meals for me... which is kinda why i went with the 750Ti which according to reviews, semms pretty awesome for the price!

Those are two different form factor builds, both are unbalanced.

What id do is:

8320 (its cheap for the performance )

board that will allow you mild overclock

really good GPU

no ssd - direct it toward gpu

normal cheap case (n200 ? )

then after a while you upgrade to SSD and buy cpu cooler

4570 build because future games will become more quad core optimised.
