Give it to me strait!

kamikazi
Go to solution Solved by EmoRarity,

HA so just make the sound louder then right?

Yeah, though the M40x is easy to drive.

Ok so I have about $200 to spend on a new pair of headphones. I want something that is going to sound GREAT "for that price point." I can do my own research (to better pick what would suit me) but was wondering if you all could give me a starting point for some good headphones. Something equal across the board gaming & music. If a Dac would be preffered with a pair of headphones I would be willing to upgrade to a dac after the headphones. Not neccesary for the headphones to have a built in mic.

Ok.

210418-satellite-image-of-the-strait-of-

Unless you're saying, "Give it to me, Strait!"
In that case, I don't know anyone by that name.

I really wish that we'd just make organic hardware already, that grows and adapts to the demands it needs to meet. That way, grannies' computers can be floppy sacks of organicness and the 12 year old Minecrafters will look like the guys that only do bicep curls, and the nerdy programmers will finally have justice, with their body-builder rigs that skipped leg day.

I could arrange to give it to you gay.
But your two best bets are going to be either DT's or COP's, since HD558/598's are pretty HD518's.

Thanks for the help everyone. Great suggestions. I ended up going with the M50s :) for how many good things that has been said about them I couldn't pass them up for 100$ on amazon. Now that I have mad that decision is onboard audio going to OK for these or would a soundcard or headphone amp REALLY improve sound quality?

The M40x's tho...better pads, detachable cable, identical sound. And no getting an amp wont change anything.

Technically, but if it is deafening already you probably won't benefit from the increase.
