Will Consoles have upscaled 4K

N00B

Probably. Just for the sake of claiming they can display it.

This generation, I don't think so however as 4K HDTVs become more widely used in the coming years I think we will see a push in that direction with consoles, with likely lower resolutions being upscaled just as 720p was to 1080p on the last generation of consoles.

As far as Xbone and PS4 they might, for less demanding games (not something like Hardline obviously) but it'll just be as much of a gimmick as those "1080p" DVD players

I think there's something about ps4's handling 4k images, but beyond that hell no

Edit:

Sometimes slide shows are nice :)

The most common result of insufficient wattage is a paperweight that looks like a PC

They'll be able to do 4K video, but gaming? Doubtful.

Why the hell would a 500 dollar console be able to output 4K when it takes multiple flagship GPUs just to get acceptable 60fps @ 4K on a PC?

Consoles won't have 4K because Microsoft will just say "If you stand far enough away you can't tell the difference between 4K and 720p"

Git Gud.

If the GTX Titan doesn't give the best performance for 4K Gaming(or at least triple or double monitors), I don't think consoles will catch up to that in the near future, but with 4K TVs in existence, it's possible.
