They're all good. I'm more concerned with reliability and warranty. 850 wins that with their 10 year warranty.

Considering my Patriot Wildfire from 2011 is still running fine, its pointless to play the fanboy card (which for this forum is anything with Samsung stamped on it) Any modern ssd from a reputable manufacturer will do. It depends on your budget than anything else. In the real world, SATA III ssds perform about the same in their respective price brackets.

The 850 Pro is indeed the best consumer SATA III SSD currently. I have 3.

Where exactly do you live? The 850 Pro isn't released yet in the U.S.

Edit: apparently Newegg lied. I could have sworn the release was the 31st less than a week ago.

Its was the 21st for the 256GB and 28th for the 128GB. I received the 256's right on time, the 22nd, and actually got the 128 early, the 25th. I believe its the 512GB and the 1TB that won't be coming until the 31st. Check out the more recentish posts in the latest purchases thread as I posed some pictures there.

My vote is for the 850 Pro too. I'm waiting till Sata express or M.2 drive get a bigger hold in the market to upgrade though

Samsung has V-Nand coming to M.2 in December supposedly. They estimate a ~4x read and write speed increase on Asrock's Ultra M.2 standard.

I have two old Samsung 256GB 830Series SSDs in my main rig, a Kingston 128GB in my laptop and a Crucial M500 240GB one in my LAN rig. I can honestly say that it doesn't really matter which brand you choose. Go with whatever is cheaper and offers the storage space that you need.

I personally think the way my case is set up, the cables would look better than having it in a PCIe slot. Idk still a while away from that point, once we actually see some out then I will make the final decision.

What about the Intel 730 Series SSD? Pretty neat.
