Unable to Get New GPU WU (F@H)

So for the past week or so my GPU has failed to get a new work unit. It was working fine previously. My CPU folds just fine and continues to get new work units. The first server it tries to connect to (171.67.108.201) errors with an "Empty work server assignment" but when put into the address bar comes back with an "OKAY." The second server it tries to connect (171.64.65.160) errors with a "actively refused" and I entered it into the address bar and the server doesn't exist. I've pinged both servers and both responded. I've even reinstalled F@and updated my graphics driver to no avail. Any reason as to why it has stopped?

strange, my 4p machine is up and running temporarily, it's getting wu's just fine, and i launched the client on my desktop computer just to check and i got wu's instantly, probably just luck of the draw, or maybe it has to do with the location?

 

i thought this was just isolated to some issues with the servers dealing with the gpu wu's, was surprised to see that you can't get any wu's at all  :huh:.

Any one know how to get it working or what's going on yet ??  I have work units finished but will not send and can't new work units gpu or cpu :angry:

Update:

I have been getting CPU WU for something called "mini-proteins," the F@screensaver crashes repeatedly, and my GPU still lies dormant.

so i believe that the problem may be with the server ips dont exist on their server list anymore. i just fired up a system with a few old nvida gpus (gts8600, 9800gtx+, gts250) and they are trying to connect to servers that arent on the server list on the folding at home site. so maybe these older gpus are being cut off now? my r9 290x's get wu's just fine and so do my other gpus hd5000 series and above. but i only have those old nvidia ones so i cant say for newer ones like 600 series and above. this is just my observations and little investigations into the matter. hope other can verify this is the case.

I have a Quadro FX 880M which is similar to a GeForce GT 330M on the Tesla architecture (I believe) so it could be a possibility that they have cut-off support for my particular GPU which would suck because that's the more powerful processor.

Well my system finally got one. I quite the program, re-started and voila - no clue why, and that is the frustrating part.

My folding rig just started 2 new units a few hours ago, so I think new GPUs might be unaffected.

@Whaler_99 The log still says servers 171.64.65.160 and 171.67.108.201 as the log on my first post. Same errors as well.

ok, try this:

 

ping  vsp10v-vz01.stanford.edu the reply should be - 171.67.108.201

 

Turns out this could be a DNS issue in resolve some host names used by the FAH client. What DNS are you using, either on the PC or in DHCP?

Yes, you can delete WU's. Although not typically advised. Got the the Start Menu item for FAH and you can go to the DATA Directory. In there you will see the Work folder. In the Work folder are sub folders called 0, 1, 2, etc. which correspond to your Slots. Delete the one that corresponds to the Slot you want to reset.

Then you are exactly where I was... and then suddenly mine started working. Just keep up the hope. Disabled your AV maybe?

Sounds like a plan - I literally just restarted my client once every couple of days and suddenly started working... very weird...

After almost a month the only change is that the two servers it connects to are both empty servers. The servers haven't changed but the error has changed.
