750W Power Supply 12V Rail drops to 10.5v then shuts off when running Furmark

Hi guys, 

I bought a R9 270X and when i run furmark on it the 12v rail drops to about 10.5-10.6v and then 5v one drops to 4.3v ( or where around there) and then instantly shuts off and to turn it back on i have to turn off the main power until the led turns off on my mobo and then turn it back and then it will turn back on. I was thinking that my computer was shutting off because i only have 4gb of 1333mhz of ram but now i don't think so. Should i get a new power supply? right now i have a shaw 750W power supply

What brand PSU is that one?

I've never even heard of that brand O_O. When it comes to PSU never pick a (relatively) unknown brand. Always get a trusted and not too cheap PSU like ones from Corsair, Seasonic or Cooler Master.

You don't need 750W for an R9 270X and a "standard" processor. 500 is more than enough for said components unless you plan to CF/SLI or upgrade to something bigger like an R9 290.

@ShaneelForTheWin Oh yea, that shit uses a lot of power under load and gets hot. Then 750 is still a bit overkill though. 600 should be enough.

i have a amd fx6300 and i think of maybe keeping the psu for a while

GG, SHAW has a long tradition of PSUs that Explode... also that model has a pathetic 12V rail (not even going to bother posting it... just saying that one of the PSUs that came bundled with one of my cases performs better...)

A CX600 can handle that system with no probs also would give you a great OC Room... RM750 is way overkill... but will be a nice one and silent

that is the psu that came with my shaw case

Totally. Corsair is a good brand for PSU's.

Just throw that piece of garbage away, unless you want to risk destroying the rest of you components.

I'm saying that now they are going down, with Maxwell and Bermuda coming up, power usage is taking a dip down. Also, AMD is clearly planning something huge in the CPU section, as we havent heard ANYTHING from them in ages about that (besides the AIO with the 9590).

AMD hasnt done anything CPU in like 12938012 years. Makes me think they're doing like, Graphene research or some shit crazy like that.
