Luke took a look at the Razer Sabertooth Xbox 360 and PC wired controller. Regular Xbox 360 controllers are a mainstay in a lot of PC gamers' arsenals, and are much more affordable than the Sabertooth... Do the extra features justify its high price?

Pointless features for higher price

The features just don't seem nessasary and you're paying more for them,

I couldn't justify it myself.

Cool review. The Razer's nice, but not nice enough to replace the 360 controller. That's not to say that they should stop trying, it's just that it's not that much better to justify buying it over a Microsoft one.

BTW I like seeing Luke do reviews but I'm disappointed in the lack of wild arm flailing.

I received this controller as a gift from my brother this year, and I absolutely love it. For me, the combination of the rubberized grip and more tactile buttons does it for me. Now, if I had been in the market for a PC pad myself and hadn't received this as a gift, I might not have gone for this one right away, as the price point is fairly high. However, its extremely durable, comfortable, and efficient - in my opinion, worth every penny.

Yeah he's Nick, the "new guy". He's in charge of sales and the whole sponsorship stuff I think.

An $80 360 controller with a cheap shitty sticker xbox logo on it. wow. At least make it look like the original controller.

If I wanted to buy another normal Xbox controller (which last 5 ever) then I would buy a cheap used one off ebay or something, and wouldn't buy a more expensive RAZER branded controller. Honestly Having it branded by razer is the the beats of PC products. Pointless high priced bling that mainstream people love for no reason.

Well that thing is ugly. Feature wise it is interesting. However for the price just buy a Dualshock 4 or Xbox One controller. Not only are both of those cheaper than this controller but they are simply better controllers than the 360 pad.

Whooo I totally agree its a great controller. It just feels better, more solid and precise than the standard x360 one. And as far as I can tell they fixed all the reliability issues the onza had. I think I went through 5. Also listen to Luke make sure you put the cable in correctly. I also suggest you plug it in before plugging in the USB.

That's pretty cool, actually - good to have the choice for a high quality controller because all the other choices are kind of meh in the quality department which is odd since there are so many high quality choices for mice, keyboards and even Joysticks out there. Especially the buttons look like a worthwhile improvement. And concidering the overall quality of the components the price of 75€ doesn't seem unreasonable - IF it holds up in the longevity department. According to the amazon reviews The Razer Onza seem to be prone for failures so that's a concern. A followup video about how it holds up would be real nice.

Have you used one? Because I own one and one night of use in a friends hands and he saved up to get one. Its just a more premium product and feels that way. I have used quite a few aftermarket premium x360 controllers and this one definetly comes out on top.

Cool, more cost for four useless buttons, take my fucking cash Razer. /s

Just take them off, I did. The ones on the back are useful for lime remapping to arrow keys.

How would you differentiate it then? Also there first bits kinda a nonsensical rant.

Yea think I will continue to use my Xbox One controller.

I mention this earlier but I can't wait for the X1 variant as razer just launched their X1 fight stick.

Razer does actually make quite a few good products. Many of those are just hands down better than the competition, though it may take a revision or two to get there.

The onza had quality issues, especially the TE due to the adjustable sticks. This so far for me since release has had none of those issues, though I don't use it as much as I used to. As a not I went through 5+ Onza TE's (all under warranty). I even took some apart and repairs them so I could go into what and how they failed.

The sabertooth is a product that fixed everything that I though was wrong with the previous and even did a few things I wasn't expecting.

Sounds good to me so far but I have another question - you mentioned earlier that you should plug in the cable to the controller first and then plug in the USB. Is there any particular reason for that? Cause it would be pretty convenient to leave in the USB cable and then plug in/unplug the controller as needed.

I haven't used one and don't know anyone who owns one so I can borrow it. What I said was based on Luke's video and pictures. I'm all for paying extra for a more premium product but this one just doesn't seem that much better. I love the cable and the carrying case but that's kinda it. As a whole, I like it but not enough to buy it over the Microsoft one. And to be clear, I'm not saying that it's a bad product, or that people shouldn't buy it, but for me personally it just doesn't seem that much better.

That being said, I DO like some Razer products and I DO want a nice controller. Maybe their next one will fit the bill.
