How to get an R9 290 Tri-X into a 250D

mapegl

I now have the urge to buy three 290s and a 250D along with some risers and just shove the 290s in there just to see if I can get them in lol XP.

Might as well now, just because reasons. Although I don't think it will be easy to find a tri sli capable motherboard that would fit.

It doesn't have to be XF capable, just get some 1x to 16x risers lol.

So I went ahead and created this video "guide" showing how to get the R9 290 Tri-X into a Corsair 250D. My video setup was super ghetto and I had to film this by myself.

I hope this helps a bit, especially my friend here, Rayballs

So you basically fit it in? I thought you would have to saw pieces off

Impressive to say the least. GG max card length.

Thanks! The video was kinda in vain though...

wow! it really is a tight fit, but can the Sapphire R9 280X VaporX TRI-X fit inside the 250D? Seeing that the 290 Tri-X is 305mm and the 280x VaporX Tri-X is 308mm, planning to get this card but im having second thoughts because it might not fit inside the 250D

Probably not going to work! There is only about 1mm left, and that would be too close I guess.

@mapegl

Great fit mate :)

I actually had to cut a bit of the plastic from the heatsink cover of my MSI GTX 770 to make it fit into my Elite 110 :D

That's the spirit!
