Go to solution Solved by Archangel1994,

Also as for the files you need to download. From those 62 files (liiterally lol) the ones you want are:

Chipset: Intel Management Engine Interface V9.5.15.1730 for Windows 32/64bit 7 & 32/64bit 8 & 32/64bit 8.1.(WHQL)

Audio: Realtek Audio Driver V6.0.1.7218 for Windows 7/8/8.1 32bit & 64bit.(WHQL)

LAN: Intel LAN Driver V18.5.54.0 for Windows 7/8/8.1 32bit & 64bit.(WHQL)

USB: ASMedia_U3_FW_update

Those are the mandatory ones (I assumed you have 8.1 64-bit)

The others are optional but quote me if I missed anything.

Hello ladies and gentleman,

So i build a computer from scratch for the first time a week or so ago. After waiting for my new monitor to arrive i entered the bios and installed my OS (Windows 8.1).

Now my plan was to install the drivers that i needed before installing any programs what so ever. But here is the trick i have no idea what driver to install, there are either too many of them and i don't know which one to choose or i can't find any.

So if you could help me with what driver i need to install to ensure a fast and reliable use of my computer that would be awesome.

Sorry for the trouble a beginner like me can cause but help would be greatly appreciated.

Here is the computer parts that i bought :

- Asus maximus gene VI

- Intel i5 4670k 3,4GHz

- 8g corsair vengeance 1866

- Samsung evo 250 Go
- Seagate barracuda 2To

- Asus R9 280x Direct CU II top

- H100i
- Corsair cs650M

-LG 23MP65

I've also heard that i should run some programs to test if my system is stable before and after overclocking it. which one should i run ?

@Fairytayl Download the drivers for that exact mobo off the Asus website. Then download the drives for that GPU from AMDs website. The you should be good to go pretty much. As for benchmarking and testing stability, I'd recommend Intel's Extreme Edition Performance Tuning Software. For the graphics test, run some games or either Valley or Heaven.

go to www.ninite.com and pick what you need...

For overclocking run:

OCCT

and CPU-Z

-- Also:

WinRar is mandatory... uhh... www.amd.com for the latest drivers... etc. and that's it. lol.... no need for more.. else then look in ninite.com what do you like.

Windows Update got drivers too btw for your components ... just saying

Install all the driver disks that came with your components. If you want, then you can go to the manufacturers website, find your product, and download the latest drivers and software. This includes motherboard and GPU.

If you want, you can install Corsair Link v2 to  control your H100i.

Ccleaner and malwarebytes are two great tools that you should immediately download to keep your PC running smoothly.

I think the samsung magician software comes with your SSD, but if you didn't get a disk with it you can download the software from the samsung website.

use HWmonitor and CPUz when overclocking to monitor your temps and voltages. For stress testing your CPU use Intel Extreme Tuning Utility and for your GPU use MSI afterburner or something else.

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/ Works quite well from what I've heard, the Intel Driver Update Utility.
