Trying to mount Hyper 212 Evo while in case = annoyingnous PLEASE HELP!

rambi36

I'm trying to put in the standoffs for it with my case standing up and then when I begin putting the backplate in the standoffs fall out or become loose -_-. Any suggestions as to how to do this, as this is really starting to piss me off.

Thanks in advance

At this point it might be faster to just take out your motherboard and do it that way. I know, it sucks. But if you're having that many issues, it may be the fastest way.

Also, hi.

OMG ITS EMMA

topic related note: The H212e mounting for Intel is really annoying. It's usually worth your while just to take the board out and do it on your lap.

I held my backplate on with my left arm and then let the case lay down on my arm and reached in through the front with my right arm and screwed the shit in.

You have two hands? Use one to hold the backplate and the other to screw.

Great! Now when I try to install the heatsink with the retaining thing on it, the retaining thing won't stay still and when I position it right on the cpu, it's all out of place. Sometimes I regret being a pc enthusiast -_-

Yeah I know...

So back to the cooler, I took off the fan to make it a bit easier and after test aligning the mounting bracket for the heatsing itself and putting it through the heatsink, while trying to but the screws on the mounting bracket with the standoffs, the bracket decides to move around and doesn't end up being aligned with the standoffs

Too late now. I Have all the mounting hardware for the cooler already installed dude and it would be a big waste of money for me to get a new cooler. I need my PC to be functional ASAP!

OP, you're making it sound like it's impossible to install an EVO. The EVO was the first aftermarket heatsink I had ever installed on my first PC and while it was slightly cumbersome, it didn't take me very long to install it.
