how to bypass a rar password

cookie17

i have no clue where to put this thread but oh well

i made a rar file with all my work documents and server passwords etc..

but now i forgot the most important password to my passwords... oh the irony

so does anyone have an idea on how to open it without any additional cracking software?

thanks in advance

I'm sure the is a password recovery tool for it somewhere you'd have to download it but I dunno if you can trust it or not.

You have to use other software..

There's one called RAR password unlocker:

http://www.passwordunlocker.com/downloads/rar_password_unlocker_trial.exe

I've used this myself and it's good :)

Well..... Define "Cracking software", if all you mean is brute forcing the password, then have a look at NSIS, no brute forcing required, but doesn't work 100% of the time

I am good at computer

Only way is to brute force them open, that means try all possible words, programs can do that for you

You can just use some programs that allow you to recover lost RAR or ZIP archives.

I don't know the name of the one I used in the past, but it worked very well.

I don't think you can without a recovery tool. Beware there are many hoax tool's out there. I never came across such situations so never used any of those tools.

There is no getting around it, everything is encrypted. The only way of getting your documents back is to use a brute force tool, I would recommend one that leverages your GPU.
