Alright so for my first build I picked myself up a Corsair CX600M. My PC itself uses around 400-450 watts after using a PSU calculator. I didn't think to realise, but how exactly is PSU wattage calculated? If it uses about 400 watts, does it take up 400 watts a second? A minute? Hour? Day? This would make a great techquickie topic btw.

Depending on your PSU, if its bronze, silver, gold or platinum. It doesn't always use the full 600 watts all the time, it uses let's say 450 and when the psu really needs power it adds more to give you those extra watts. Also not all the energy is transferred into power, some gets lost as heat. Golds and platinums are the best at efficiency. I also think it goes by hour but I could be wrong I'm just speculating

Watts are a measure of Joules/Second. Joules are a measurement of energy, work or heat.

What is your build? If it is a single GPU it will most likely be fine

MSI GTX760 2GB

Crucial Ballistix 2x4GB 1600mhz RAM

The answers are indirect (no offense, but thorough explanations). I'm just wondering how much power does my machine take up per hour/minute/second of usage? Not very heavy load just something like gaming. And I use an h100i to cool it.
