HDD vs SSHD vs SSD?

Go to solution Solved by skywake,

It's almost getting to the point where a fair number of builds can be SSD only, it's well past the point where every build should have an SSD for your OS + Apps. Unless you need multiple-TBs and/or are on a limiting budget you should probably see if you can go SSD only.

Hybrids were really only good as a stop-gap. They made sense when it cost over $100 for a 30GB SSD when HDDs were already in the TB range. Since then HDDs have gone well beyond the sort of capacities that the average user needs and haven't gotten that much cheaper. SSDs have gotten really cheap compared to where they were.

overall what's the best solution when it comes to price/capacity>speed?

or the best combination, what do have in your system?

SSHD is best price to performance IMO.

SSD is for supaaafast

HDD is just if you need tons of space, and you dont need it EXTREMELY fast.

SSHD's generally have a higher fail rate.

SSD + HDD is the best.

I tried to find the graph I saw about it.

Personally, I've never been recommended one, even when I asked. I've also never really heard of happy endings with them.

I could be wrong, but that's what I believe.

i see, so the best combo is SSD and HDD unless you can't afford it

That's what I would suggest going for.

The only proof is word (our word/statements of our experience in case some of you don't know what word means in this context), I will back it up. SSHD's blow big turds.

SSD+HDD=SSHD

SSD's are Extremely Fast like REAALLLY fast

HDD's are SLLLLLOOOOWWW but they have Big Capacities

SSHD's are the 2 in one's They Prioritize your Most Used Files and Set Them To SSD Speeds

And Set all the other files into HDD like speeds

SSD's are great because they are Durable due to the Fact that They Don't Contain any Moving Parts.

HDD's are Very Very Very Very Fragile like Once you Drop It Your Files go Bye bye
