Convince me too buy the Ducky Shine 3 from the Massdrop campaign

1823alex

So I do wanna get a Ducky Shine 3 it's on massdrop now for $30 off. Why should I get it over my current keyboard the blackwidow. Like what are the differences between the blackwidow and Ducky shine 3, is it a good upgrade?

thanks in advance.

Go look at the Corsair Vengeance K70 RGB. Then look at your wallet.

Still want the Ducky Shine 3? Go for it.

If you need to be convinced you don't want it enough to spend your hard earned cash on it IMO.

I'm trying to find the differences and stuff to find if the Shine 3 is a good upgrade.

I'm not really the person to ask about Mechanical keyboards, I'm an oaf when it comes to that subject.

I'm content with my £10 K120 at the moment. I don't see myself buying a Mech keyboard anytime soon, unless I can get one for about £40/50.

Don't. I have a blackwidow ultimate and have tried my freinds ducky shine 3 lots of times before and  I can safely say I would take my BW over the ducky anyday.    The keys if you get the blues are exactly the same, the ducky doesn't look as good IMO, it just isn't as comfortable to type on IMO and doesn't feel any more high quality.   The only thing I prefer on the ducky are all the different LED modes, so if you care about that ALOT then switch. Otherwise don't, I wouldn't.

well.  Your next purchase should defo be a mech keyboard. typing on a mech keyboard feels like finger sex, whereas now I'm used to a mech typing on a membrane keyboard feels like I'm typing on slugs.  Seriously I think its the best upgrade to your computing experience followed by an SSD.

I'm typing on a Ducky Shine 3 at the present moment, and it is a great keyboard.

The price on that deal is really good, so good I'd highly recommend jumping on it.

There was a time I owned a Blackwidow (3 of them, actually) and this keyboard is something on another level. Definitely an upgrade.

I don't do MX, but a keyboard investment is really worthwhile. Not sure if you are super fond of the blues/replicates, but I prefer DS3s over BW any day.

The DS3 on Massdrop is cheaper than a BW, and I wouldn't want to purchase Chinese replicates of MX when I could get the original for a cheaper price. Oh yeah, you get a free wrist rest and kinda cool key cap puller, I mean wrist rests aren't my thing, but hey extra value I guess.

But if he is switching from a BW to a DS3 it's not worth the change. And yeah I don't know what the cherry copies are like, never used them. So I see your point.

I've only tried the new blackwidow at a best buy they had the 2013 out and the 2014 in the box with arrow key holes. I wasn't too impressed by the Chinese knockoffs so I am very very happy with MX blue switches.

Why would you replace your current keyboard if there's nothing wrong with it? Like wasting money?

Especially if you're replacing your black widow with ducky both with the exact same key switches. What's the point.

It's called an upgrade and that's why he made this thread... to find out if it's an upgrade or not.
