TV tuners? wtf

cos slow internet. i dont want to watch everything in 240p

 

we dont have a satellite dish? might go for this one http://www.amazon.co.uk/PCI-E-DVB-T2-Definition-Digital-Receiver/dp/B005JTA7TG/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top it was the dvb t2 bit that i didn't get. they all seemed to be satellite 

 

T is for terestial, C for cable and S for satellite. I think I'm going to buy a tuner for DVB-C with four tuners from http://www.buydvb.net/. That device you linked is from there.

basically i have normal british cable tv (freeview) and i want a pcie card that i can record 2 things on at the same time. any ideas because these things are highly confusing for me? budget is tbd, so give me a few options? maybe a basic one a new one and a beast one? i don't have a clue which are good or whether they will work with a normal tv Ariel? also it might be useful if i had some software that has a tv guide and that i can select things to record upto a week in advance. HELP!!  :wacko:

most, even shitty shows can be found online :/ why would you want to record tv? :S

A lot of british TV isnt on torrent sites.

Freeview isnt cable. Its DVB-T(2).

 

I use the PCTV 290e and tvheadend for freeview HD and a Tivii satallite card for Sky.

 

The one you linked is for sattalite TV.

 

You will be able to get all freesat channels with it if you have a sattalite dish alighned to Astra 28.e

Windows media centre could work, but it will only record one channel on a multiplex at a time.

I have an old MSI TV tuner... still works I think; I might try it in my build.
