Dual Monitor Upgrade Considerations

Commander Llama

Oh here I am, back again...

My new desktop is purring now and this GTX780Ti Superclocked burns through 1920x1080 as an afterthought.  I've been using two monitors for productivity for a while now, and I only game on one monitor, surround stuff doesn't interest me.  Currently I have two Asus VE247H monitors.  They've served me well.

For a gaming monitor I am just about set on the Asus PG278Q ROG Swift, now depending only on it's final Canadian price.  Since I only game on one monitor, I don't need two of the things.

What does have me thinking is... I'm going to get this premium quality monitor for the first time in my life, and it's going to be 27" 2560x1440 sitting beside the remaining 24" 1920x1080 monitor.  I'm not obsessed with an exact match but it sounds like it's gonna be weird.

So, Asus PB278Q as a pair? ($529.99 CDN)

One of those Korean ones off Ebay?

I've never used an IPS monitor before so even the PG278Q is sounding like a huge upgrade for me.  I did try the Asus PB287Q 4K display in a local store, and I just wasn't impressed at all with it for desktop productivity work, no matter how mouth watering that 15FPS Titanfall looked.
