surge protector

I am currently building a new gaming PC with a 650W power supply. I am wondering how many joules should my surge protector be rated for to protect my pc and monitor?

I would actually want to know that too. I currently am using a 800 joules surge protection with 1000 joules suppression.

5800X3D - RTX 4070 - 2K @ 165Hz

Also, what's the difference between a surge protector and a APC. What other options exist other than a UPS?
