My Hard drive died... sorta...

BluHyena

Alright, so I turned off my computer by holding down the power button while it was doing something in the background, and Windows got corrupted. I have an itty bitty 120gb hdd that I put windows back on and I can at least use the computer, but I need my data back from the corrupted drive. The only problem I'm having is that whenever I go to read the drive, it says there's an error, and "Access Denied". I've tried everything I can think of, but to no avail. I need help from someone that is more technically inclined than I am, apparantly. I've got it hooked up through one of those Sata/Ide to usb converters/connector thingies. The hard drive is a 500GB Samsung Notebook drive (yes, it was in a laptop, so that may have something to do with it...)

PLEASE HELP ME!!!

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.
