290x unusually hot

Ever since I installed my new watercooling loop (CPU only) I've noticed my 290x has been idling at 55C when normally its at 35C-ish. I didn't touch it when I installed the loop, I only removed 1 A14(ULN version). And I doubt removing a 600RPM fan would make that much of a difference.

I'm in an air conditioned room btw

Also using a kraken g10 w/H90

Is your system doing anything in the background? What is your gpu usage when it is at 55c? Are all the fans spinning?

Nope , even on fresh boot, and yes the fan on the rad is spinning. And it is also <5%

Yes there are VRM heatsinks

Make sure the cooler and bracket are seated correctly. If you take the block of the G10 is the thermal compound spread out nicely?

can you hear anything strange from the pump?

 

Corsair AIO pumps are famous for failing

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.
