Upgrading to good pc speakers any recommendations?

Matthew12106

So I'm upgrading my speakers I'm currently using a philips dcm292 here is a pic

SNekVj8.jpg

I took it from the living room as  temporary solution but now I want to upgrade to a full 2.1 setup with a subwoofer etc. So i'm in the price range of £35-45 ( Not dollar). To give you an idea of what the prices are like in the uk here is a link to a computer part store http://www.scan.co.uk/shop/computer-hardware/all/speaker-headphones/21-speakers

I was thinking about the Logitech z323

But they got some pretty bad reviews. IDK I'm a bit of an audio noob and I don't want something amazing just something so if you could look at that link I posted or give me recommendations that would be awesome

Thanks

Get something more than 25 *watts* if you want a sub

for example that speaker will do a horrible job at the lows and sound will break up easily, when the volume i cranked up

This is the only UK link I could find (It's the more expensive X version): http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Micca-MB42X-Bookshelf-Speakers-4in-Carbon-Fiber-Woofer-Silk-Dome-Tweeter-Pair-/231286886737?pt=Speakers_Subwoofers&hash=item35d9c5d151

I see where you're coming from, computer speakers usually don't have as good quality as separate speakers and an amp. So I guess it's up to you whether you get a all in one type thing or a separate speakers and amp.

I have no idea if they are any good or not. The only way to tell if something sounds good or not is to watch/read reviews by people who know what they're talking about. Some good forums for reviews and such are head-fi, audiokarma, and avsforum.
