Laptop suggestions (Gaming and work) No idea where to post.

Meestagibbon

I need help, school just started to let us bring in our own devices, I want to get a laptop, but I don't want to lose gaming capability, or speed and buy a cheap one, I was thinking of a price range limiting at 1300 and want to know what is good, or what I should be looking for. Any help is appreciated, and SORRY for possibly posting this in the wrong area, but there's no place for complete systems (Hint, would be nice in the future, dear forum gods) Thank you!

It would be appropriate for this to go into the New Builds and Planning thread. Yes it's not a "build" but it is a new PC, totally OK if you post in there about getting prebuilts.

Still at work, can't do research for you yet, but I'm sure a ton of people will be able to help you out.

You should be studying at school not gaming... honestly I would advice against an expensive laptop like that for school.

Study hall is not for studying. It's for Tribes. Straight A's, did nothing but PC gaming in the common rooms with my friends. Got all my homework done at HOME. xD

But seriously though, paying that much for a laptop with gaming in mind still won't get you very good performance. I would recommend (people are going to hate this) getting an ultrabook for work stuff and sticking to consoles for gaming until you're willing to put down cash for a Desktop PC. Way more bang for your buck in desktops.

I would agree with this. You'll get much more performance in a desktop. However, me and my friends have a LAN party about 3-4 times a week during the summer and every weekend during school, so alongside my gaming desktop I also bought a gaming laptop for LAN parties and for school use - it's really convenient.

Well the reason I'm spending so much is because, I'd be losing my desktop to it, considering I'm back and forth between a couple houses lugging my desktop around isn't very convenient, thank you to everyone though, I'm looking at the Lenovo Y50 and the ASUS G550JK right now.
