Dynamic volume/volume extension question

Askew

The subject is DISK 1

I have formatted a partition on this drive, and I have extended the other partition to fill the whole drive and appear as one volume.

I want to use the drive for file storage only, it now shows in Disk Manager as a Dynamic volume and not a Simple Volume as before, what does this mean? (I am not running OS from this drive anymore, that's what the deleted partition contained)

Why are the 2 data amounts split and represented as 2 simple volumes rather than represented as a whole simple volume? How can I turn it back into a Simple Volume without losing data?

Not sure why you made it dynamic disk. I basically means it can be used as a software raid now or lots of logical partitions. There is almost not negative effects over a Basic volume. You cannot turn it back into a basic without doing a reformat i am afraid :(

I made it a dynamic disc because Disk Manager would not allow me to extend the volume without doing do, maybe there is another utility I should have used IDK.

So you're saying I can just leave it that way? It appears in My Computer as just 1 drive with full capacity, it's 0% fragmented.

I'm just going to use it to install games on and store music/media etc there will be no problem doing these things on the Dynamic Volume?
