Deciding on the rog swift 1440p monitor Need help

Sk3l3

hey guys concerning the new Asus rog swift 1440p monitor coming there's one thing i would want to confirm. Will I definetely need to get a 3 way sli if i were to go with a 3 way monitor setup with them and which gpu would be best for this need at min 4gb of vram (preferably) at least hopefully titan might be a good choice, ATM I am waiting on more info on the new 800 series of nvdia cards I can wait till they release info on those till i do anything but what are your thoughts/opinions?

current PC parts I am getting for 1440p 3 way monitor setup : http://au.pcpartpicker.com/user/Sk3l3/saved/#savedbuild_1296110

i dont think 3 way sli would be NEEDED however without it your not gonna get those settings very high. Rather then a titan i would recommend something more like the new asus strix edition gtx 780's with 6gb of vram

If you're going to run 3 of those monitors, I suggest you run 3-4 way x-fire R9-290x's depending on what settings you run for each game.. That might not even be enough at such a high resolution. That is the same as one 4k monitor and one 1080p monitor running at the same time.

unless you are planning to do ULMB mode, you are better off just getting a 120Hz 1440 S-IPS panel since no matter how good a TN panel is a slight angle would get color shift which is really bad on triple setups.

Yeah, we're all just a bunch of idiots experiencing nothing more than the placebo effect.

I'm planning for this setup too. Just got two EVGA 780 ti Dual Classified cards. I posed this question on several threads here, and have received many different answers, most of which say this is a no go because of the vram needed. However, I have come across a few threads on other forums where this setup has been running well for a few years on much lesser cards.

Here is one of such threads...

Also, there are a few, but not many, examples on youtube.

He shouldn't even consider a AMD GPU if he's getting the PG278Q, the point if this monitor is G-sync, without a nvidia GPU, it isn't worth getting.

No such thing as a 120hz IPS, also the viewing angles will be perfectly fine as the two monitors on the side will be positioned on an angle so he can look directly at them.

Temptest Overlord X270OC, MOTV M2700, Catleap 2B, etc... all overclock to 120Hz without rasing the gamma past 60Hz and doesn't suffer from image retention like QNIX/XSTAR.

the point of multi monitor setup atleast for gaming (like on racing games) is for peripheral vision
