Windows 8.1 Laptop stuck in reboot loop

Trollzarz

Hi,

Today I tried to turn my computer on, it got to just before the login screen and then turned off and started booting again. I am running Windows 8.1, and I can get into safe mode. How can I fix this?

Thanks

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

If you overclocked your CPU and set the voltage too high, that's what happens. I keep getting this and then I realize I put the voltage too high.

Try System Restore. Maybe something you installed recently screwed your laptop.

I have had problems with my laptop in the past.

LET IT RUN

no really, just let it run, it might sort it self out, when you go to bed, just let it reboot as many times as it wants to.

Yeah, try to return it, but try to keep your hard drive. :P They might be able to send a fully working laptop.

Upgrade

ok here we go. if you want your pc to work, do this.

1. find out your Win OS key or you may need to buy a new OS

2. plug HDD into another pc (via IDE/Sata cable, or external adapter) and do a HARD format, not a "Quick". if the formatting process takes less then 5 mins, it was too fast.

3. get Windows CD/ISO file on a usb stick.

4. config your pc in the bios to boot from usb/optical drive

5. reinstall windows.

but likely if you need to buy a new windows copy, its not worth it, get a new laptop. sell that one on a LTT cassifields or something

Just tried a format and reinstall of Windows, worked for 5 mins then restarted. Guess it's time for a upgrade, has been slow, loud and hot for a while now.
