Just wondering, why is it necessary to have display port? There are several good IPS monitors for that price, but they don't have DP unfortunately.

Well displayport seems to have the best features. Tbh i guess the reviews and what not have fixated my opinion of it.

Btw, i just bought a new monitor which arrived today in fact, i ended up with this.

Only downside to this screen, is the stand isn't the greatest, and it wobbles side to side a bit when typing. It does have the VESA wall mount holes in the back to solve that issue though. The monitor below is the one i was originally gonna get, but had to buy a new headset as well, so had to go slightly cheaper.

If you can stretch your budget by about £15-20 you can get the excellent Dell u2414h 24" monitor. It's worth the extra money. Generally regarded as best sub £200 monitor.

Displayport is a type of interface connector. Its the best one out there atm and supports pretty much everything

Normally you find DP on expensive monitors that are like 27inches+

trust me, DVi is all you need
